Iran is preparing a law related to the campaign against terrorism, the Fars News Agency reported on Saturday.

The director of the presidential research department confirmed the report but declined to give any details.

Meanwhile, an informed source who requested anonymity said a draft of the bill had been drawn up by the Presidential Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Department and has been passed on to the secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) for review.

The same source added that the views of the secretariat's experts would be taken into consideration, then the bill would be passed on to the cabinet for approval and later it would be handed over to the Majlis, where MPs would vote on it.

The source did not say when the draft bill would be delivered to the Majlis.
